Krav Maga (Ages 12+)
Krav Maga, literally translated as “contact combat,” is one of the most effective systems for hand-to-hand fighting in the world today. Every single technique in this program focuses on maximum efficiency in conditions that are real to life.
Krav Maga is free flowing; all styles of punching, kicking, chokes, and take-downs are employed with the aim of neutralizing the attacker in the shortest amount of time. Unlike competitive martial arts where limits are placed on the type of techniques used or the areas targeted, Krav Maga has no limitations…no rules…no guardrails.
Make no mistake; this system is designed for self-defense combat and worst-case scenarios. A major part of the training involves the ability to handle stressful situations, both physically and mentally. Krav Maga emphasizes assertiveness, aggressiveness, and “staying in the fight” (even when it is hard; even when you feel you have nothing left).
However, this style is easy to learn and apply, as Krav Maga chooses simple movements that are natural to the body (movements based on instincts that are already established within us). And most importantly, it’s FUN. Classes are kept relatively small to ensure learning takes place in small group settings.
The Krav Maga Program will help you learn to defend yourself, while building your fitness and confidence. The drills in this program will teach you how to defend yourself, while getting you in shape as you safely push yourself to limits you may not have known you could achieve!
